The Yarrabah Dancers hail from FNQ and keep sacred many traditional dances including the important Whale song - 'Woonungarah Gwangal Moronn' - the "elders of the sea", which follows asongline, an ancient memory code that traces the journeys of ancestral spirits as they created the land, animals and lore.

One of the many important rituals performed by the traditional owners is known as “singing in the whales”. These rituals held at specific sacred locations include repeated songs and have been performed for thousands of years to welcome the arrival of whales along the Australian coastline.

The Yarrabah Dancers are highly professional and perform around the country bringing their many dance stories to life. All performances include multiple dancers, Uncle Mala Songman and Storyteller, yidaki and traditional cultural singing.
