Yulugi - Flute, Yidaki

Yulugi - Flute, Yidaki
YULUGI, based in Sydney, is a boundary-pushing quartet performing cross-cultural fusion music that blends Indigenous Australian and contemporary experimental styles. Featuring yidaki (didgeridoo), flute, voice (spoken word and poetry), and traditional dance, YULUGI crafts immersive, improvised soundscapes inspired by the Australian landscape, animals and spiritual storytelling. The ensemble includes GUMAROY, a proud Gamilaroi and Wakka Wakka song man, ROBERT, a Gamilaroi, Bidgigal and Juin yidaki player and dancer, RAPH, an Anawun yidaki artist, and KEYNA, a British-Australian composer and flutist.
Since forming in 2019, YULUGI has captivated audiences at events such as Woodford Folk Festival, SIMA Summer Festival and the Australian Flute Festival, with national airplay on ABC, Triple J and Eastside Radio. Their performances offer a compelling dialogue between ancient cultural practices and modern expression. Perfect for music festivals, cultural celebrations and educational workshops, YULUGI delivers a powerful, authentic and transformative musical experience.
