Stacie Piper - Cultural Services
Stacie Piper is a proud Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Ngurai Illum-Wurrung woman deeply committed to the empowerment and healing of her community. As a Djirri Djirri Dancer and Educator, she embodies the rich cultural heritage of her ancestors. Stacie served as the Chairperson of the Victorian NAIDOC Committee from 2018 to 2022, advocating for the recognition and celebration of Aboriginal culture.
Currently, Stacie is the Curator & Collections Officer at the Victorian Indigenous Research Centre, State Library Victoria. She recently completed a Masters in Social Change Leadership at Melbourne University, becoming a Senior Global Atlantic Fellow. Her work focuses on storytelling, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship, aiming to connect the community to Country and promote cultural continuity.
Stacie's role as First Nations Curator at the TarraWarra Museum of Art allows her to curate and share the stories of the First Peoples of South East Australia, emphasizing the ongoing significance of cultural values and knowledge. Driven by a passion for social change, she creates spaces for truth-telling, healing, and the celebration of unbroken connections to culture and land.
