MOUSSA AND WASSADO features a Mali-born guitarist and composer currently based in Sydney. Having collaborated with Salif Keita and Toumani Diabaté, the artist has performed at Womadelaide, Woodford Folk Festival and Darwin Festival. His repertoire centres on the Wassoulou style from the Bougouni area of Mali which he fuses with Malian, Congolese, Highlife and Afro Beat elements. Since moving to Australia, the artist has recorded three albums and appeared at Bellingen Festival, Mullum Music Fest and Illawarra Folk Festival.

The ensemble performs as a Duo to Quintet with a lineup including vocals, guitar, bass, drum kit, keyboard and percussion. Their arrangements cover Afro Groove, Afro Blues, Afro Funk, Cocktail Music and Jazz with performances delivered in English and French.
