Kala - MC, Bespoke Cabaret
Kala is a Melbourne-born performer who recently graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Kala is quickly making her name as a talented MC and cabaret artist and is known for her quick wit, delightful charm and spontaneity.
She also has an extensive performance background including The Drowsy Chaperone (dir. Alister Smith), which covered the role of Joanne in their production of Company (dir. Roger Hodgman).
She performed as a featured vocalist for both of VCA's Morning Melodies (dir. Margot Fenley) in 2017 and 2018, and recently performed as a vocal soloist in David Attenborough's Planet Earth 2, performed at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Kala was the recipient of the Lionel Gell Scholarship during her second year of study and made her professional debut in Andrew Kay's production of Masterclass (dir. Adam Spreadbury Maher) 2017-2018. Kala has performed with the Jack Earle trio and enjoys performing in an intimate setting, sharing stories and creating memories for you and your loved ones.
