Growing up in the scintillatingly rich music scene of the 90s in Cape Town, South Africa, Jamé used to fall asleep in a carrycot next to the late-night jazz rhythms of his dad’s kick drum before he could even walk.

Between hearing his grandmother’s rapturous ragtime on her old piano as a toddler, and being musically corrupted by South African jazz giant George Werner as a young teenager, Jamé’s personal experience of music has shaped the foundation of his sound.
