Bachelor of Music Performance (Improvisation) on trumpet from The Victorian College of the Arts. In 2012 he earned a Bachelor of Music Performance Honours (Composition) from the University of Melbourne.

Ed is an award-winning and highly trained Trumpet performer.  He is also an accomplished arranger and composer of music for wind band, orchestra, big band, choir, brass band, and chamber ensembles.  His commissions include creating musically satisfying works for younger musicians and his compositions are widely played in Australia and the USA.

As a performer, he has toured and recorded with many prominent artists, including ARIA award-winning singer/songwriter Julia Stone, and ARIA/ Grammy award-winning artist Gotye.  Ed also played trumpet in the pit orchestra for the 2017 Melbourne production of Disney's Aladdin, and the 2018 production of Evita.
